Reason Why #3: You're Paying for Eight Subscriptions That Don't Talk to Each Other
Project management, accounting, scheduling, estimating, CRM, safety, payroll, service dispatch. Most GCs pay for a separate tool for each – and then pay people to move data between them. We added up the stack.

Pull up your company credit card statement and count the construction software subscriptions. Project management. Accounting. Scheduling. Estimating and takeoff. A CRM. Something for safety. Payroll. Maybe a dispatch tool for the service side. Most general contractors we talk to land somewhere between six and ten.
Each one made sense when you bought it. Together, they cost you twice: once in subscription fees, and again in the hours your people spend moving the same information from one to the next.
The third reason contractors move to SCPM Project: one system replaces the stack.
We added it up
We built a public comparison page that lists the tools a general contractor typically pays for in ten categories, with each vendor's price as of August 2026. For a smaller GC, the usual stack runs $12,154 to $22,734 per year. For a mid-size GC, it runs $81,665 to $120,265 per year.
Then we put our own published pricing at the bottom of the same page, so you can check the math yourself. Depending on which tools you'd replace and which tier you'd need, a small GC saves $3,200 to $16,400 per year, and a mid-size GC saves $55,600 to $106,800 per year. Same categories. Same functions. One system.
The subscription is the smaller cost
The bigger number never shows up on an invoice. It's the project coordinator re-keying a change order from the PM system into accounting. The controller reconciling three exports before the WIP. The superintendent filling out a safety form in one app and a daily log in another. The sub's insurance certificate that expired in a system nobody checked before the check went out.
Every handoff between tools is a place where data waits, gets retyped, or gets lost. SCPM Project replaces the handoffs with one record: the estimate becomes the budget, an approved change order updates the budget and the billing together, the bill posts to the job cost, and the pay application comes straight from the ledger.
What you give up
Mostly, the logins. Your history comes with you – nearly everything in your current system can be exported and brought in, and we move the small remainder by hand. And if you ever want to leave, a one-click full export means your data leaves with you. Our goal is that you will never want to leave.
Same categories. One system.
This is Reason Why #3 in our ten-part series. The side-by-side comparison, category by category, is on the Compare Pricing page. Check it against your own card statement. https://scpmproject.com/compare-costs
Structure defeats chaos.
If margin is leaking through the gaps in your operation, a direct conversation is where it starts.
